Omega Game

I wonder why it is, that of all the discussions about games I never hear the
name 'Omega' by Origin mentioned.  I bought this one a couple of years ago
and thought it was going to be a HUGE success.  For those who are not
familiar with it, I will describe:

Omega is a battlefield simulation of a different sort.  You build and program
cybertanks and have them do battle.  The battles take place in one of several
cities supplied with the game, or ones which you create yourself.  The
artificial intelligence for the tank is written in 'cybertank command
language', a nifty little language with such verbose statements as: SCAN FOR
ENEMY TANK, RAISE SHIELD, TURN LEFT 2, and supports variables, branching and
much more.  There is a testing module for your newly created cybertanks and
a battlefield simulation module.  The entire program is very well written,
with nice graphics and painful attention to detail.  Documentation was
impressive.

Now, if that wasn't enough - the tanks that you design are saved on the disk
in ascii format and can be transmitted via modem to your friends.  What's
more, Omega was written for Apple //e, //gs, IBM, Mac, C64, Amiga and Atari
and the tank files are completely interchangable between machines.  Origin
Software ran an 'Omega Tournament BBS' where you could upload your latest
designs for entry in the tournament, or friends could do this privately or
through a common bbs.

I built some pretty mean tanks and had lots of fun battling it out with
computer generated opponents but never found anyone else to exchange tanks
with (never called Origin's bbs).  Has anyone ever even heard of this game?
I wonder if it is still available.  Maybe I can stir up some new interest.
