The System 6.0 I installed from is the final release version. I
"followed all the rules", using the Installer, etc. And why, I even
did a low-level format, repartition and high-level format on my hard
disk before trying to install it again. Everything single thing works
fine except for HFS. It works with floppies but not hard disks
partition. I've tried copying System 6.0 from friends but the HFS part
still wouldn't work perfectly.

The problem with installing AppleWorks GS seems more serious
than that. I tried using the Finder 6.0 to copy AWGS to the HFS
partition and it HANGS during writing --- ALWAYS. When I re-booted, I
noticed that around 1 meg worth of info had been written b4 it hanged.
In fact, it doesn't lie with AWGS alone; any software I tried dumping
over to the HFS partition hangs the Finder during copy and always after
about 1 meg was written. Seems like a constant problem here.
