'if ever' is probably a bit much.. It's recommended to clean heads on 
cassette tape players, so why not on disk drives?  Once a month 
surely seems like too much though.

On the same subject, Seven Hills came out with a disk drive head
cleaning disk and software.. It was in the paper yesterday in our weekly
"computing" section. They have software for Macs and GSs. (GASP!
The Apple II was actually mentioned in a general interest article!)
