I don't know if this is contributing to your problem, but it could
be: CDev.Init is *not* part of System 6.0, and the Installer should
have removed it when you installed.
If you copied System 6 files yourself instead of letting the installer
do it, I heartily recommend you run the System 6 installer.
(CDev.Init in System 5 was responsible for calling CDevs (control
panels) at startup time, for those control panels that need it. In
6.0, the ControlPanel NDA already does that, so your CDevs may be
getting started up twice. With certain control panels that leave
some code in memory and patch it into the system, that could be a
big problem.)
