System 5.0.x (2, 3, and 4) require ROM 1 or ROM 3. ROM 1 replaced ROM 0, I
think, in 1987 and the upgrade remains a free upgrade at Apple dealers. If your
dealer won't do it, bug them and call the Apple 800 number.
ROM 0 is ancient and incompatibly. Upgrade ASAP.

I doubt it. America Online, GEnie, and CompuServe might still have Sytem 4 and
_maybe_ 3.2. I don't know if these work with ROM 0, but you don't want them
anyway. You want ROM 1.

You have at least 3 options to get files from a Mac to a IIGS.

1>Put the file on a Mac disk and read it with System 6's HFS FST.
2>Put the file on a ProDOS disk on the Mac with Apple File Exchange.
3>Put the file on a ProDOS disk on the Mac with the ProDOS File System
extension installed.

Apple File Exchange has come with Mac's for a while. You probably don't have
the other two.
