MORE 3.5" drive problems

I've received a few pieces of mail on my 3.5" drive... Most said that there was
a tension spring that needed adjusting. So, I found it, behind the heads near
the back of the board and next to the stepper motor, and tightened it one
notch. My drive promptly started to, believe it or not, gouge grooves in my
disks. So I put the spring back where it was originally. It STILL gouges
disks.

I did some more poking around and I noticed that the bottom head and the
little metal part around it is quite securely attached to the drive. On top,
though. the head and its corresponding little metal part seem to be quite
loose. Is it possible that the top part got dislodged, and is causing my
trouble?

Again, thanks to all that have helped me...
