Interesting concept.  The Apple 2 folks should expect to pay for what
folks on other machines can get for free?  Well, _THAT_ should be a major
attraction for the platform.

As for free telecommunications packages - kermit and freeterm gs are two
great free pieces of software.  As for word processing, there really isn't
any free word processing programs - there are some free text editing pieces
of software out there - FreeWriter, FRedWriter, and AppleWriter ProDOS are
3 off the top of my head.  The AppleWriter package is the CLOSEST to a 
word processing package of which I am aware.

Now, anyone want to port the oleo or sc spreadsheet to an 8 bit Apple 
environment so we have a free spreadsheet?
