First, I would like to thank everyone who has tried to help me already.
Unfortunately, I'm still haveing trouble getting BINSCII to work.
Part of my problem is the only transfer protocol I currently have
on my Apple IIc is XMODEM. First, I ftp what I want from the Internet
on an IBM-compatible workstation at school. I get someone to run
ProComm+ in host mode so I can download files via XMODEM to my Apple
IIc. Next I tried "-BINSCII.EXE" in ProDOS, but got nothing but
"SYNTAX ERROR"s one after the other. Next I wrote a BASIC program
to change all the CHR$(10) (Unix end-of-line) to CHR$(13) (Apple's
end-of-line) characters. Then I tried "-BINSCII2.EXE" (which is what
I called the new file) and it actually started doing something! Then
it ended in 3 "SYNTAX ERROR"s. (Boy! That burst my bubble!) Well,
I decided to try the BINSCII (ProDOS SYS) file that was created.
I tried several .BSQ files. They all ended up with a type of $E0
and none of them would run.
Does anyone know where I can get a BINARY (i.e. already compiled SYS)
version of BINSCII. I think it would be more straightforward for me
and involve fewer computer acrobatics.
Still in search of VT100 emulation.
Help,
Scott
