Problem with UltraMacros: & path

I can't get the "& path" in the following UltraMacros (3.1) macro to
work.  It compiles fine, and the rest of the macro works, it just
doesn't perform the path change.  I have other macros where I've
successfully used it.  Anyone have any experience using & path?

	L:<asr oa-q find if z = 0 then & path : & "/HD/APPLEWORKS/DB/" :
	esc rtn rtn find rtn else rtn endif>! Goto file $0, or load it

The macro, used as a subroutine, goes to the file in $0, and if it's not
on the desktop, it loads it.
