I down loaded the file, but when I try to open it from Paintworks Gold,
I get the error 004A. The file was on my hard drive. I then moved it
to a floppy, and the error changed to 004B. These errors both refer to
version levels? The HD is formatted under 6.0, and I am booting PW Gold
from it's own launcher program. Maybe my PW copy is hosed? Does anyone
know how to configure PW Gold to run under 6.0 on the HD? Did it
reqire an upgrade that I never got? I will have to dig out the original
PW Gold disk and make a new backup and try that one.
Sorry for all the questions, but sometimes I wish that the programmers
would have made the applications more easy to use, as on the Macintosh.
I really love the move and use philosophy of Mac OS and see some of that
showing up for the IIGS now that GSOS came out, please keep it up.
It seems that most of the IIGS stuff, especially the early software
will only run from the original floppy disk. We have had our IIGS since
1986 and I reckon it gets used at least 5 days a week. I certainly have
gotten my money's worth from it and wouldn't give it up for anything.
