Archiver problem

This weekend I wanted to repartion my IIgs's 80MB disk, so I did the following:

  1) Ran the Archiver (came with System 6.0)

     1a) Did a archive files on my first parition
     1b) Did a select all files (OA-A)
     1c) Changed disk many times

     1d) Repeated 1a-1c for other two partitions

  2) Repartitioned the disk

  3) Restored partitioned from just taken archives

  4) Discovered that the Archiver had *NOT* archived *some* of the applications
     that were on the desktop, even though it verified the disk and gave **NO**
     errors on either the archive or restore operations.

  5) Used many words that I should not have used.

Is this a known bug?

Is there a *reliable* archiver/backup program that should be used?
