...but you can't even switch to another app when the foreground
process is in a modal dialog--and this is with System 7, no less.  (I
was reading in some files with Apple File Exchange and wanted to fire
up a word processor to start messing with the files...no dice, at
least not while the file translation is in progress.

Methinks this is extremely lame.  My 286, running DESQview, does a
better job than this.  (Granted, my 286 doesn't read Mac disks...but I
have no need for that from my 286--and only very limited use for it in
my GS.)
