My first thought was that it was a keyboard that used foam at some point
in the key design, but I don't think so. I'm sure that each key was a
sealed unit. I'll try and look later to see if I have anything remaining
of an Apple III keyboard and take a look.
One thing, the switches were the same as on the original Mac keyboard (the
one used through the Mac Plus). I did a transplant at one point.
