Hyper C is getting me Hyper

For years I've been trying to get Hyper C working on my Apple //e (enhanced),
but every version I ever get always locks up after starting the c.system file.
In fact, the only version that runs on my //e is the old CDOS based one. I have
gotten the latest version (I think) just recently and it has also locked up. I
have tried hc.system. I have tried running it from disk and from a hard drive.
I have tried looking at the startup code in c.system to see what makes it blow
up.

Does anyone else have this problem, or does anyone else have any idea of
what's going on here?
