Source for playing sounds

I am looking for source which loads a sound into the doc ram, and/or
plays a sound. I have been looking through //GS Hardware reference, and
after reading that, many questions spring to mind. Getting hold of some source
which plays a sound may answer some of my questinos. Does anyone have such
source they are willing to share with me?
