I know I heard Tim Swihart say there would be no _MAJOR_ new releases of GS
system software - at KansasFest this year! He claimed (and I believe him!)
that System 6 took about two years and many people to create - and Apple will
simply not commit that much effort again for Apple II software.

There will continue to be, for the immediate future, update versions of the
OS such as the forthcoming 6.01. Basically, these releases will be for :

a) hardware compatibility (eg. the EtherNet card - the main reason for 6.01)
b) enhancements and fixes (as Dave Lyons (mostly) gets time!)
