Okay.  HP doesn't do this, because the cost of updating such an archive
would be unpleasant.  You gain very little in the way of improved
compression, and it would make life difficult over AppleShare (multiple
people could use it read only, but if you wanted even one file read/write,
you'd be in trouble).

As far as manuverable goes, I'm not clear on why you want it that way.  You
can move the collection around by simply dragging the folder, and this way
you can get at the individual files easily when the compression stuff isn't
running.
