Giving Thanks
We here at Procyon would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone
a very pleasant Thanksgiving.
As Apple II and Apple IIgs users, we are all very fortunate. We have
computers that are still functional (thanks to Apple's quality engineering),
and are very useful to us all. We are grateful that there are companies
such as Westcode, Resource Central, DreamWorld, Econ Technologies, and
many many more that are constantly striving to make our Apple IIs
more enjoyable and more useful.
We can also be thankful that even while Apple's management has been
trying to axe the Apple II (what- seven, eight, nine years now?) that
there are those people at Apple that still believe in the machine and
work hard every day to also make the II an enjoyable and useful computer.
To Matt Deatherage, Dave Lyons, Andy Nicholas, Tim Swihart, C.K. Haun,
Mark Day, and all the others officially and unofficially involved with
Apple II Continuing Engineering, we thank you. You have given us more
than what we could have hoped for for the world's oldest surviving
computer line.
To the surviving magazines and newsletters (A+/inCider, GS+, A2-Central,
and user's group newsletters like Scarlett, Washington Apple Pi) we
give our thanks and support for providing a place for all Apple II
folks to come together.
We wish to thank the people who manage the Apple II areas on AOL, GEnie,
and Delphi for providing a place to ask and answer questions, and revel
in the Apple II experience. Matt Deatherage (again!), Scott Gentry
(Hey! Watch those topics!), Mike Edwards & Lurch (you know who you are!)-
keep up the good work.
Finally, we would like to thank all of the Apple II users out there
who purchase our software and support us with praise, and make it
possible for us to continue improving the Apple II.
To everyone from the folks at Procyon: have a happy, and safe, Thanksgiving.
See you next week.
