    OK, jerky was the wrong word to use.  I still think the animation in
the (Super)Mario(Bros|Land|World|Paint|etc.)(1,2,3,4,...) is canned.
The motion of Mario just cannot compare to something like Price of
Persia or Out Of This World.  "Canned" = 5 or 6 frames which give the
illusion of running, 3 frames for jumping (begin jump, jumping,
landing), etc.  I don't *expect* some mass-appeal game like Mario to
match the quality of OOTW, however.  Methinks I will give Resource-
Central a call tomorrow to place the order....
