When I posted my survey about Apple and its computers, a number of
people (MANY) asked that I give them the results. DONE SO HERE BY!
So what?!?!?!?!?!?! The point of this paper is to find out if there
is a "so what" in a marketing sense.
So I start with a few premises:
A) Apple Computer Inc. has "done to the Apple II."
B) A "standard" in selling is that if one customer has a bad
experience, 250 people will hear about the problem.
C) Another "standard" is that it takes five times more effort to sell
to a new customer than to sell to a customer to whom you have already
sold.
D) The Apple II started in 1977 is sold still in 1992; The Apple II
computer has a loyal following.
