That is all good and great and fine, but my point main point
is that:
If people don't support their machine, the CAN'T and SHOULD'NT
expect their machine to be supported.. It's that simple. I'm not
talking just for myself in saying this, but I am talking for many of
my friends who program for the AppleII.. Granted that alot of us
program mainly for fun but cleaning up a program good enough to
release it is not the fun part of programming. (ditto goes for
documentation and other stuff that is necessary for a person to use a
program who doesn't know anything about it) Basically what it boils
down to is if the apple community scratches the programmers backs, the
programmers will scratch the apple community's back in return. If
they don't, well then the programmer will stay till it isn't fun
anymore, and will move on to other things. Getting responses saying
"Hey, I like your stuff" or whatever helps make programming something
more enjoyable.. IE fun..

I understand this very well, and I agree, that not all
programs are for all people. *I* and other programmers do not expect
to get a response from everyone. The sad thing is that for the most
part programmers expect to get a response from NOBODY..
And yes, I do have numbers to back this up... but I guess one
can't expect to hear from more then (2.5% or less) of the people who
use your program.. (all sarcasm intended..)

Oh, and DeskTracker doesn't play Mods..

And the people that it does apply to, and who do use it, and
don't write/pay (be it freeware, shareware or commercial) anyway, are
the ones who are killing the apple..

Maybe their time and efforts would be better spent writing to
programmers instead of writing to a organization from which at least I
personally have seen nothing come from..
