Where'd you get it that they didn't give you a manual?  

Telling you which switch (I dunno 'cuz I'm not at home with my computers) 
affects DMA won't help you anyway.  Like I said, without the Zip modification,
it just plain WON'T WORK with the Zip!  Drew has to cut a trace or two and 
solder some new ones and then replace the EPROM with a modified one.  So it's
pointless to be spouting all this other nonsense that was going back and 
forth when the problem IS known and the fix IS available and the whole thing
has absolutely nothing to do with DMA!
