If you (or a friend) can do a little soldering, DON'T waste money on an
Apple power supply, buy a 150-watt XT power supply for around $39, cut the
connector off your dead apple-style power supply and hook it up to the XT
supply. Your power supply problems will be over...especially if you have
loaded up your //e with memory cards like I have. I've got two Apples
running on supplies: A //e on a 150-watt XT for the past 18 months, and
recently upgraded a second //e to a 200-watt AT power supply. The have
built-in fans, run quiet, can be placed out of sight, but best of all, they
don't burn up like the underpowered supplies they sell for Apples.
