GS Monitor keeps getting brighter

Hi,

My Apple IIgs Apple Color RGB monitor has had a strange problem for over 
a year now: the longer that it is on, the brighter it gets. For the 
first 10-15 minutes, one can compensate by adjusting the brightness and 
contrast, but after about 20 minutes, even having these two set to their 
lowest will not affect the display. The brightness causes all text and 
graphics to become quite blurry. I have already tried opening the case 
and adjusting some of the pots inside, but that only seems to have 
increased the time before the display gets to bright for a bit, and has 
not solve the problem.

Is there anyone familiar with this problem?
