Is there a way, formula wise, to get a named day from a date in Appleworks 5.1, i.e., Aug 4, 2009 is Tue?

Essentially every Apple II clock/calendar board/mechanism provides
the day of the week in addition to the date. This is relevant if it
is *today's* day of the week that you want, as opposed to some arbitrary
date's day.

The macro language in AW 5.1 has the equivalent of PEEK, so it should
not be difficult to retrieve the day of the week directly. There may
even be such a macro already written...

Any language with divide, integer part, multiply, and subtract can
compute mod, so Zeller's congruence shouldn't be a problem either.
