Re: Apple Computer, Inc made mistake to do SHR?
LOL.. this reminds me of an ad in San Diego's "the Byte Buyer" free
weekly in the early 90's.
There was an Amiga/Atari store called "the Lively Computer" .. and
this particular week's ad had a few amusing parts.
They used to push the computers for their gaming and productivity
combination, mostly the Amiga due to the Video Toaster, and the Atari
for MIDI applications.
"You Shooted 1 Million Alien!"
..and some bullet points, among them:
o 4 and 6 Color
The proprietors of this store, like most of the x86 clone stores were
of far eastern descent.
What we figured was the old adage, the "customer is always right" and
well, back in those days you would dictate your ad copy over the phone
and they would fax a proof to you. Or you wrote it all down and faxed
it to them, or you had a 'Squirrely box' (SyQuest) and made it
yourself and sent them, delivered to them, etc- your disc cartridge.
So, say it in your best Engrish and you'rr see what I mean. ;-)
now say "four thousand ninety six colors" .. in that same accent.
Yes, it got into print. One of these days I'll find the issue. I have
a few of them somewhere.
