For the 2nd card,  there is a timer,  what appears to be an op-amp,
some and gates....  an 3->8 demultiplexer.
It looks a lot like some audio digitizer....... especially with the
MIC input...

...

Not sure about the first card.

Second card looks like it provides a second cassette interface
plus another set of analog joystick inputs, hence the
empty 16-pin IC socket.
Ne558 quad timer would support that idea.
