I don't have any first-hand knowledge of your problem, but you might want to
check the Intel "Speed Step" settings. I'm thinking that the emulators
might be dependent on a fixed clock speed and a lot of the modern systems
(*especially* portable systems) change the clock (and hence the instruction
execution rate) dynamically to reduce power and extend battery life.
There's usually a control somewhere in the OS (or the BIOS) to disable the
function.

Hi,
I recently been getting together a Netbook to run Windows and OSX so I
can run all the emulators i need for GS (even Bernie under
SheepShaver) as well as use it for checking email/surfing :)
I noticed something strange with Sweet 16 (1.7 and 2.0) that i was
wondering if anyone else had seen it and knew what possibly could be
causing it. It is noticable in games and the two that i have been
playing with recently is King's Quest II and Silpheed. It seems that
in the intros the sound and emu seem to slow down and then speed up a
number times, this is noticable more in the sound as you can hear the
gaps between notes increase and decrease. I would normally not really
care, but Sweet16 is my fav emu for modern OS and was the reason i put
OSX on my netbook (via retail OSX disc of course). KegsOSX seems fine,
Bernie even seems fine taking consideration the double emulation and
Kegs and ActiveGSApp on Windows plays fine. I booted up a friends
PowerPC G4 and also my Pismo laptop both running OSX 10.4 and saw the
same behaviour...so not something specific to my netbook (also tried
booting the games directly as well as via my HD image running GS/OS
6.0.1).
Has anyone else noticed this? and know a fix :-)
Also does anyone know if you can remap the keys in Kegs for the keypad
support?
Cheers
Drew
Hi,
Yes i tried that last night, but didn't make any difference. The fact
i see same problem on G3 Pismo and G4 desktop which are PowerPCs make
me think its not architecture related.
