GSP (looks like company logo silked on the board), has a big Zilog 8530
chip

google says that chip is a serial controller. Serial card

card in plastic: put it in slot 7, turn on computer.

type call-151 at the ] prompt

type c700l at the * prompt

if the card has ROM, this will list it's contents, and
we might be able to id the card this way.

you can also try typing PR#7 and see if it
tries to do anything or prints a message on screen

All it gave me was 6E at 7001.

That would have been C700L, not 7001, which means to list the contents of ram assembled starting at Memory location $C700.

Still nothing of real use. Just FF's and 00's with no discernable pattern.

It was suggested that this is some kind of "software copy protection" (I don't know if they mean a dongle of sorts or something like an EDD+).
