Re: ZIP chip these days

I am watching an ebay auction for a zip chip 8000 //e without any manuals or packaging or anything... it's already up to $110.99 USD and it's not over for another 16 hours or so. I am grateful for mine and don't plan on parting with it, but interested to see what they sell for these days...

With eBay, one never knows. If an overseas collector jumps in, it could go for $4-500. On the other extreme, if everyone sits on their hands because they're "sure" it will go out of sight the $110.99 bid may take it.

I was lucky enough to acquire another Zip 8000 to replace the one that died. Price was right: Helped a partially disabled friend clear out his storage shed.

On the subject of Zips: Is it normal for these things to sit with a screen full of garbage for 4-5 seconds after powerup before resetting and booting? I cannot remember if my original unit did this.
