The Human Interface Guidelines makes for an interesting read!
There's a good bit about the nature of intuition in the beginning part
that is very thought-provoking.  Thanks for posting this.  :-)

Memorable quotes from the first part of the book:

"Intuition usually delivers its results to the conscious mind in a
convoluted, metaphoric fashion." (p. 19)

"If you, in your personal and professional life, do not have to [SIC]
skills to be caring, polite, and respectful with people around you --
and many great programmers do not -- you probably should not be
designing human interfaces."  (p. 23)
