Hi Brendan,
yes, that is of course totally possible, and in some cases I have done
this, and in others I did not.
There is no real reason why I did this way, just that the compiling of
the images was done over a period of about a year, and it just
depended on my mood at the time, or the fact that not all the games in
a mulit-game volume would work. So even though there are just over 100
titles listed, there are actually more games hidden in some of the
volumes.
Yes, it would be great if Cyderpress could see inside DosMaster
volumes (or copy to them directly), but alas, ADT (not even ADTpro)
was the only way to get the programs loaded.
Each installed volume then had to be tested, then the 'HELLO' program
updated, and then tested again. Then the CF card would be backed up
after each install using Ciderpress, as there was know knowing if the
next installed image was going to clobber the CF card, which would
mean starting over from the last save.
Making the process even more frustrating was that some games that I
expected to work, would not work on my II+ (hardware issue maybe), but
would run fine in applewin (in II+ mode), so an extra testing stage
from applewin was sometimes needed...a tedious process, but well worth
it in the end I think.
Can anyone please confirm wether the games all work on a real Apple II
+, I would really like to know if there really is an issue with my
machine. A good game to test is #16, 'Apple Invader' which does not
run on my hardware!
Thanks in advance.
