This is pretty high on my wishlist too. I had imagined the ideal way
would be a dipswitch/jumper that routed DEVSEL to a bitbanger
interface to JTAG rather than direct to the FPGA. This would mean a
user has to consciously decide to reprogram a card by flipping the
switch.

Having cards assert reset on powerup is certainly a possibility so I
figured a 'hard' solution was the way to go, but it sounds like you've
got it covered.

BTW, I'm very much looking forward to playing with one of these!
