The ADTPro shell script makes the assumption that it's placed at the
top of a little tree of subdirectories. So, it expects that ./disks
and ./lib live right below it. If you read through the script, you
can see the script tries to find its own current location, and then
find the actual code (./lib/ADTPro-x.x.x.jar) relative to its current
location. If it's not running, it probably can't find the .jar
file.
Note it will drop a .properties file in the "current working
directory," which is set to the ./disks folder for convenience in
picking up disk images.
If you keep the whole package together (i.e. if you move the whole
unpacked thing to ~/Applications/Java Apps/ADTPro, for example) it
should run from there. Or, if you just had unpacked it right in ~/
Applications/Java Apps, it should have worked "out of the box." Well,
I've tested it on OSX and SuSE Linux, but not under Ubuntu - I don't
know if the shell environment will behave exactly the same way. But
it sounds like running where you unpacked it is working correctly...
so maybe you just need to unpack it right where you want it to go.
