(And, the pinout of that one is going to be different from what the GS has, being meant for an Amiga.)A RGB SCART to Component (YCbCr) adapter is also a viable solution now that a lot of TV/monitors have those jacks in the US.http://cgi.ebay.com/SCART-RGB-to-YUV-Component-Video-Converter-Transcoder_W0QQitemZ330315595702Testing over at the gamesx RGB forum show they work well.Work well with _what_ is the key question. I see no indication that anyone connected one to an Apple IIGS. Experience by myself and many others on this forum suggests that VERY few scan converters are capable of good results with the IIGS. Certainly nothing in the $50 price range. The Highway 100 has been a consistent performer, but it costs > $200 US.
The advantage of aan analog RGB/SCART to component converter is that it does not sample and regenerate the video signal, as a scan converter does. Therefore, it should provide an excellent picture on any TV or monitor capable of 15kHz component input. This is not a solution for those who want VGA video (for a KVM switch, for example), but it is a great solution for those who want IIgs video on a 15kHz (TV) monitor. -michael ******** Note new website URL ******** NadaNet and AppleCrate II for Apple II parallel computing!
