The manual 030-3118-A (referenced earlier) on page 11 says this:
"Locate the jumper; when it is on the pins under the number 9, your
computer has the highest priority."
In narrow SCSI, I believe highest priority is ID #7:

So, maybe we have a conflict here somewhere?
