It works fine sometimes, then other times it gets a horizontal blur going on. I can tap it on the side of the monitor and it will go away for a bit. Must be a loose solder joint or something, but I've no idea where to look for it in there. ANy known issues with that? It is the "Applecolor Computer Monitor IIe" according to the sticker on the back.Check the RCA connector on the back of the monitor. I have the Color Monitor IIe Model A2M2056 (I believe similar to yours) and while it is a great monitor it has the world's worst RCA connector. The slightest touch makes the screen do all sorts of unwanted stuff. I have read that you should never twist the RCA jack when connecting or un-connecting on this monitor.
...or on the Apple II itself! The connectors are quite fragile under repeated twisting, which is a very natural thing to do when inserting and removing the plugs. An application of solder at the point where the center contact attaches to the printed circuit board is usually enough to fix it--but no more twisting! ;-) -michael NadaNet and AppleCrate II: parallel computing for Apple II computers!
