I like your idea for the magnetic scrolls interpreter. I love those
games, I have them installed on my Atari ST's Megafile 30. I would
love playing them on my GS.  If I might make a suggestion though, the
command menu could be better.  Right now the direction commands are
arbitrarily assigned to numbers on the keyboard.  I think it would be
better if the commands were assigned as follows:

⌘1 - Southwest
⌘2 - South
⌘3 - Southeast
⌘4 - West
⌘5 - Inventory
⌘6 - East
⌘7 - Northwest
⌘8 - North
⌘9 - Northeast

This is just my opinion, but I think having the compass points
matching the number pad is more efficient then the way it is in your
mockup. This way people won't have to memorize which number goes to
which direction.  Just a suggestion.
