    Interesting, that I'm not the only Apple II user who still relies on
analog over-the-air broadcasting, feed into an old CRT-based
television set and VCR. Rather fitting that my TV set should be 
nearly the same vintage as my Apple IIgs sitting across from it.... :)

    I'm in more of a dilemma living up here in Canada. Even though
I receive most of my stations from the States (Vermont, New York)
there are no stores selling digital converter boxes up here, and no 
coupon program from the Canadian government to help cover the 
cost. As it turns out, all the stations over the border are shutting 
down their analog transmissions *tomorrow*, ahead of the June 
extension. That means on February 17th I'll be losing 8 channels!

    Assuming I ever get ahold of a converter box, hooking up to 
one of my many Apple II's would be a cool project! (doubtful any
of these have serial ports or any way to tap into controlling them
without opening it up; I suppose the IR sensor is an idea).
