I have a classic gaming history book that has an interview with the
programmer (I'd have to look up his name) where he states something to
the effect of he was finishing up the Apple II port of Zak McKracken.
So My best guess is that it's finished (or nearly so) and just not
released.  The game is too high profile for at least one copy to have
not surfaced by  now.
