IIgs slot 7 not responding

One of my GS's will not recognize anything I put in slot 7. Keeps
giving me a 'Check startup device'.
I have set slot 7 to 'my card' in the control panel, Boot slot 7, and
Scan, neither will work.
I have done all the obvious, checked all the cards in another machine.
Has anybody ran into this before?
