Hello,
So my IIe project is coming along.
I have a last generation IIe with the 128k on the motherboard (1986
date) and a Zip-II 4 mhz processor. I'm using a LittlePower IIe I
bought from Reactive Micro for power.
slot 1 - Apple RS-232 card
slot 2 - Apple 1 megabyte memory expansion card
slot 3 is empty
slot 4 - Apple mouse card
slot 5 - empty
slot 6 - Apple IIe disk card
slot 7- Vulcan Gold w/ 2.0 ROM on a 105mb drive
I had a Taxan RGB card in the 80 column card slot, but it seems to not
get along with the Vulcan card. I tried both of them together without
the Zip chip, but they still won't cooperate. Anyone have any success
with that before?
Does this version of the motherboard have the 80 column card built in?
Or was it just that they upped the memory to 128k, but you still
needed an 80 column card? It's obviously an enhanced board with only
the two 64k memory chips on it.
Bummer I can't get the RGB card working. Looks so nice on a IIgs
monitor. I actually have two of the cards and neither of them will
behave with the Vulcan.
Right now I'm just trying to get the Vulcan to boot. I have three
Vulcan cards and three 105mb drives I prepped on a IIgs. Obviously
they were to run GSOS. Now I just have to figure out how to get it to
boot with a IIe. I suppose just format them and slap ProDOS and Basic
System onto it.
Think I can get GEOS to run?
Hah!
Thanks!
