Basically it's a universal floppy-disk decoder/writer hosted on an Atmel prototype board. Fascinating (to me, anyway) thread on development and bringup.

But it's amazing how much more data must be captured if you don't know
what a program is going to look at on a disk compared to what must be
captured if you do...

I think that a *real-time* emulation of a Disk ][ would be very useful.
