Why not save the global page in the high part of LC2, above the quit
code? You should have enough space for that plus a little extra. You
shouldn't have to alter DOS 3.3 at all, but you could add to DOS a BYE
command that restored the global page and returned to ProDOS.
Is that still true for e.g., ProDOS 8 v1.9 and later, or GS/OS? (One of
my tests is running The DOS Escape from GS/OS, and returning to the
Finder.)
Also, this would have other uses: you can still access the MLI because
the system page is intact. Not really valuable, but it could have its
uses.
Perhaps what I'll try to do is replace the INIT command altogether.
What I *really* want to do is rewrite the File Manager to just issue MLI
calls. With this, stuff could get pretty low-level into DOS 3.3 and
still work on ProDOS. (And I want to try something with The Prisoner on
it >:P)
