how did you make the boot floppy? did you use diskdup+? if you used
diskcopy and you used a modern mac to do so, it creates an non-bootable
boot disk because of the differences in the hardware. later macs had
manual inject drives and older macs had auto inject drives. all 2s had
auto inject dives. diskdup+ will make the correct disk for the 2, diskcopy
won't.
