One of the boards (the one with a 6809 and a Z80) had a 56-pin slot with the
bottom 6 pins plugged.  Maybe that's an expansion slot.  It looks like quite
a bit of built-in hardware is scattered across the boards (floppy
controller, sound generator, the two aforementioned coprocessors, and
probably more stuff that I missed).
