Re: Need to make image from ProntoDOS floppy

Hi Michael, Blakespot et al.


I have a ProntoDOS floppy disk that is just a geometry project from 20
years ago - BASIC, other files, etc.  The thing boots and runs fine.
But when I use DISK2FILE to go floppy -> image I get [E]rrors on each
track.  I've used DISK2FILE to go floppy->image on other disks in the
past.

Are there other utils that might work better here?  Thanks!  I have an
Apple IIgs.


ProntoDOS is not protected, but it's possible that this particular
disk is set up as a protected disk--i.e.:  runs only when it is
booted, but cannot be accessed when a normal DOS is booted.

You might want to check this out.  Also, try running Copy II Plus
and see if you can CATALOG and verify the disk.


Possible that the disk has been initialised with a VOLUME number
other than 254. TRAX from the BagOfTricks disk will let you know if this is the case. 

Not sure if this would stop DSK2FILE running or not?
