Hi,
I recently acquired an Apple Monitor //e (a2m6017 - platinum a2m2010)
that has an odd video problem.
The video output drops out once in a while. When i first started
using it the RCA socket was extremely
loose and the problem was more prevelent and required a jiggle on the
cable to get it going again.
No problem, just replace the jack, which i did. Now it only does it
once i a while, every 20 - 30 minutes or
so. So, I'm thinking of digging a little deeper. From what i can
tell there is a disk capacitor attached between the
shield wire, the shield of the jack and the center conductor of the
cable and a green resistor from the center
conductor of the cable to the center pin on the jack. This is all
covered in a blob of hot glue, so it needs more
disection.
I also am using a diffferent cable, and the connection at the //e's
end is OK.
A couple of questions though. Is the green resistor a resistor or an
RF choke, does anyone have a schematic
of this monitor, and third, can anyone else think of anything I'm
missing?
Thanks,
-Matt
