DIP jumper cables used to be quite commonly available from
electronics component suppliers, in lengths ranging from a
couple of inches to a couple of feet.

Thanks for the info guys,
The problem I find with Digi-Key (or Mouser etc.) is the price of
international shipping. I think they ship everything international by
FedEx or DHL which makes shipping a $5 part cost something like $40 by
the time it gets to me...Crazy!

Digi-Key was just an example--you must have lots of electronics
distributors local to you...
