Emulator for existing apps but native for all new stuff. Dump the CE. Linux 
with GSOS utils and C, BASIC, Forth, etc. It doesn't address the Apple II 
strength of open architecture and slots, but USB handles most of that now.

My personal preference would be this hardware with ANSI Forth with NEON OO 
extensions and some USB analog I/O. Keep it simple. In fact, with a Forth 
done right I wouldn't want the Linux either. I would have a blast.
